WCC is unveiling their latest creation, the Monster Energy Camaro, on
Discovery's HD Theater today at 9:00 p.m. EDT. The Monster Energy Camaro is the
creation of Ryan Friedlinghaus, owner of West Coast Customs and Monster Energy.
WCC took a classic Camaro and "mashed" it together with a new GM platform to
make the ultimate RMF Street Rod for Jonathan Davis of KoRn.
"This is my
new 'skool' way of building old 'skool' hot rods," said Ryan Friedlinghaus, CEO,
West Coast Customs. "To make an RMF Street Rod, we'll take the body off a 1969
Camaro and put it on the top of a 2008 GTO. To do this, we need to cut the
bodies off both cars, and put the old Camaro onto the new one. To give this old
car the feel of a new one, all the fixtures and fittings must be transferred and
we'll install a new Pedders coil over suspension.
"The interior is going
to be black-on-black suede with Monster green trim and Monster logos embroidered
into the seats. The paint on the car will be a mean matte black with green
Monster stripes and a huge Monster logo on the hood. The headlights will shine
through green gobos of the Monster logo to intimidate any pedestrians. Since
Jonathan is all about his music and sound, we made sure the sound system was
insane!"
Owner Ryan Friedlinghaus and his shop have been doing exclusive
custom builds for the MTV show Pimp my Ride, TLC's Street Customs, Street
Customs Berlin and now on his new show on Discovery's HD Theater, Inside West
Coast Customs. Friedlinghaus and his crew are world-renowned for their extreme
vehicles, outrageous features and unique designs.
