The design of the new Quattroporte Sport GT S puts the
accent very much on sport, but it does this without compromising the style and
elegance that has always been a feature of Maserati's flagship model.
The
designers at Pininfarina have succeeded in their aim of giving the car a
sportier edge while leaving the overall look intact. The new grille is the most
obvious change on the outside, with vertical slats that echo the GranTurismo
while its opaque black finish maintains the original styling cues.
The
deep-set grille is fitted to the front bumper, flanked by fog lights and air
intakes that have been enlarged for 2009 Quattroportes. The combination of the
reworked bumper and the new grille gives the front end of the car an immediate
visual impact.
The front light cluster features a titanium finish for the
more aggressive Quattroporte Sport GT S.
A lowered suspension, by 0.4
inches at the front and 1 inch at the rear, gives the Sport GT S a tenser look.
The car appears poised on the starting blocks, ready for action with its racier
set-up hinting at the powerful engine. The car speaks of speed even when it is
not on the move.
The Quattroporte Sport GT S comes with two new types of
20" wheel rim: Multi Trident rims in light aluminum alloy as optional or
seven-spoke light alloy rims that have undergone the 'Dark Chrome' treatment.
At the rear, oval tailpipes, shared with the GranTurismo S, distinguish the
Sport GT S model from other Quattroporte.
