TechArt now offers a new sporting highlight for the rear of the Porsche 911
Carrera and Carrera S. From subtle integration into the design of the rear of
the 911 to a pronounced sporty look - all of the three rear spoiler versions have one thing in
common: a high degree of technical and functional quality combined with stylish
design.
The requirements on all TechArt exterior components are high. Besides a stylish
and expressive design, which must be perfectly integrated into the design of the
base vehicle, each of the TechArt component parts is put through a cycle of
comprehensive tests during the development process. For example, the entire
TechArt aerodynamic package for the Porsche 911 was systematically optimized for
its aerodynamic effect on the entire vehicle, e.g. using tests in the wind
tunnel.
The TechArt front spoiler I with its integrated splitter reduces the lift on the
front axis of the Carrera and Carrera S by 11 lbs (5 kg) at a speed of 87 mph
(140 km/h); the TechArt rear spoiler II produces the benefit of an remarkable
additional down force of 38 lbs (17.5 kg) at the vehicle rear at the same speed.
Up to the top speed of the Porsche 911 Carrera S of 189 mph (304 km/h) the
additional down force arises to an impressive value of 168 lbs (76 kg) and lends
the car a performance that is more sporty, both in terms of style and
functionality.
