Panama is the latest country to use Lamborghini Gallardo in its fleet of law
enforcement vehicles.
It is well known that the Italian Police has received a Gallardo (two Gallardos,
actually) as a gift from Lamborghini to help improve worrisome road safety in
Italy. Well, the National Police in Panama has received their Gallardo for free
too. The only difference is that this time, the expensive sports car has been
donated unwillingly.
The Lamborghini is one of six sports cars confiscated from the Colombian named
David Murcia Guzman who was convicted for a financial fraud. His collection of fast
cars included two 2004 Maserati
Spyders GT valued at $54,395 a piece - one blue, one red; a 2006 Quattroporte
Maserati valued at $82,455; two Gallardo Lamborghinis, each worth $147,545; and
a 2005 612 Scaglietti Ferrari valued at $202,055.
It is now known for how long the car will be used as a police car, given the
high cost of ownership.
