It appears that Aston Martin is ready to revive the Vanquish name for its new
V12 supercar to replace the DBS.
The surprise reveal comes via CAR magazine, which was lucky enough to catch the
rear end of the supercar while it was being loaded on a transporter. The
resurrected moniker is plainly visible on the decklid of the car, whose rear-end
styling exactly matches that of the AM310 Concept.
The new Aston Martin Vanquish is expected to outperform the DBS, with more power
coming from the 6.0-liter V12 and less weight thanks to the carbon-fiber
bodywork.
Some reports indicate that the 2013 Vanquish could debut at the Pebble Beach
Concours d'Elegance in the middle of August.
The Vanquish was the first sales hit of the modern Aston era and sold from
2001-2007. Build under the leadership of Ulrich Bez, appointed CEO in 2000 and
still at the helm today, it pioneered the design and technical solutions which
have gone on to underpin the entire current Aston Martin range.
